ALGIERS, Jan 24 (NNN-KUNA) — Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al-Thani arrived in Algeria Saturday to co-chair a joint committee, due to convene later last night.
Sheikh Hamad was received by Algerian prime minister Ahmad Oyahya, foreign minister Murad Medleci and senior officials.
The Qatari official will be meeting President Abdulaziz Bouteflika to discuss a host of Arab and regional issues, foremost the next Arab summit in Libya next March.
Qatar is the rotating chairman of the Arab summit.
Algerian-Qatari trade exchange recorded USD 236 million in 2006.
