SOME 100 officers from the Royal Customs and Excise Department recently held a tahlil ceremony for the late Sultan Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit, yesterday, at the Royal Mausoleum, BSB.
The tahlil ceremony is part of an annual activity in conjunction with the World Customs Day, which will commence on January 26 and the establishment of the Royal Customs and Excise Department in 1906.
Present as the guest of honour was Awg Yahya Hj Idris, Controller of Royal Customs and Excise Department. Leading the Surah Yassin, tahlil and doa was Awg Hj Ibrahim bin Hj Mohammad.
The Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance was established in 1906. Meanwhile, the World Customs Day will be celebrated this January 26.
A number of programmes have been organised at the Royal Customs and Excise Department headquarters, Jln Menteri Besar, for World Customs Day.
