HAVANA, Jan 25 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – Cuban workers and youth performed voluntary work, their first for the year to speed national economy, especially food production.
Guira de Melena was the host municipality and members of the agricultural union workers collected different types of crops.
The voluntary work commemorated the 157th anniversary of the birth of National Hero Jose Marti, the 30th anniversary of the death of the outstanding revolutionary Celia Sanchez and the 71st anniversary of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC).
Other volunteer work was related to the sugarcane harvest and tobacco industry production, the cleaning of schools and work places.
According to Amarilys Perez, member of the National Secretariat of the Cuban workers Federation, the voluntary work is related to national needs. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
