THE Indonesia Earthquake and the Philippines Typhoon Humanitarian Fund yesterday received a B$3,000 donation from Bistari in an event attended by its members, as well as members of the Women’s Council and invited guests.
The Deputy President of Bistari, Datin Hjh Maimoonah binti Hj Omar said the donation marks one of the highlights in the programme of activities organised by the NGO.
One member of Bistari said donations to Indonesia and the Philippines started coming in soon after the incident, and that it was important to help those in need.
The donation was presented by Datin Hjh Maimoonah to Siti Hazizah, a representative from the Community Development Department (Japem) of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
The function also featured a Nasyid and Tausyeh performance by new converts and also a speech in celebration of the new Hijrah year by Ustazah Dk Hjh Norhayati from the Islamic Dakwah Centre.
