LUMAPAS Religious School, Brunei Area IV held a two-in-one event yesterday – the celebration of New Year 1431 Hijrah and the presentation of best student awards and certificates to 51 primary five students of religious primary schools who passed their examinations last year.
The ceremony was attended by the guest of honour, Head of Examination Department, Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ustazah Hajah Hajijah binti Haji Moktal.
The event started with a mass recital of surah al-fatihah led by Haji Md Norazmi bin Hj Md Salleh, followed by a welcoming speech from the school principal, Haji Kamirul Azman bin Haji Kula.
The event continued with speech by the guest of honour and a religious talk by a speaker from Dakwah Islamiah Centre, Ustazah Hajah Rogayah binti Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Wahid.
The highlight was the presentation of prizes to the best students and the handing out of religious primary school certificates to students who passed the 2009 examinations by the guest of honour. H Bat & Zai
