BAGHDAD, Jan 31, (NNN-KUNA): A Shiite pilgrim was killed and another two were injured, while they were on the way to Karbalaa to venerate “Arba’eneyat Al-Hussien”- the 40th anniversary marking the 40 day following the death of imam Hussien), an Iraqi police source said.
An unknown person threw a grenade on the parades of Shiite pilgrims in Sadiya town, southern Iraq, the source said.
Shiites walk from various Iraqi cities to Karbalaa to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of Imam Hussien.
