KUWAIT, Feb 1 (NNN-KUNA) — The Kuwait Red Crescent Society will dispatch on Monday a planeload of tents to victims of the earthquake in Haiti, its Board chairman, Barjas Al-Barjas, announced here.
Al-Barjas said in a statement to KUNA Sunday that the aid would be sent to the Haiti quake victims in line with directions of the Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
He praised the Emir’s rapid interaction over the tragedy and his quick directions to send humanitarian assistance to the victims.
Two planes have been specialized for sending the aid to Haiti; one will fly Monday and the other on Friday, he said.
The assistance has been allocated for the victims of the quake in line with a sincere government initiative to relieve those who were harmed.
The Emir earlier ordered the donation of USD 3.5 million for the victims of the deadly tremors.
