THE Islamic Culture and Education Division, Takmir Committee of Setia Ali Mosque, Pekan Muara, for the first time, held a prayer workshop for the year 1431.
A closing ceremony which saw the presentation of certificates to participants of the workshop was held recently.
The guest of honour at the event was Ustaz Haji Harun bin Haji Junid, Secretary Islamic Council, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The event began with a recitation of surah al-fatihah led by Imam Awangku Hj Md Salleh bin Pengiran Hj Zakaria, followed by a speech from the chairman of the council, Imam Pengiran Hj Rusman bin Pengiran Hj Shahbudin.
A speech was also delivered by a representative of the participants, Pengiran Hj Ibrahim bin Pengiran Hj, Timbang, who is also as the Assistant Secretary of the Mosque Takmir Committee.
This was followed by a speech from the guest of honour and a nasyid presentation by the youth of Setia Ali mosque.
The event also saw the guest of honour presenting certificates to participants who attended the workshop.
Also present at the ceremony were Major (Rtd) Haji Awang Johari bin Haji Abdul Rajak, Penghulu Mukim Serasa, Pengiran Haji Muhammad bin Pengiran Haji Othman, Head of Kampong Pekan Lama, Pekan Muara,
Sabun and Pelompong as well as Setia Ali mosque Takmir Committee and village residents.
