The Brunei Tell-A-Friend Road Safety Campaign has encouraged people to improve their behaviour by taking personal responsibility for road safety and it is also to encourage people to increase awareness of road safety by telling colleagues, family and friends about the five main Road Safety items.
Boustead Sdn Bhd on Monday launched the “Brunei Tell-A-Friend Road Safety, Boustead Service Campaign 2010″ at its showroom in Beribi.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei officially launched the campaign on September 30, 2009 and Boustead is proud to launch the campaign in collaboration with Brunei Shell and has high hopes on the success of the campaign.
The campaign is aimed at reducing the number of road traffic accidents in Brunei. Fatal accidents and injuries caused by road accidents are preventable in most cases with increased awareness of road safety rules.
The safety advice put forth are ‘Fasten Your Seat Belt At All Times’, ‘Always Drive Within Speed Limit’, ‘No Handphones While Driving’, ‘Wear Your Helmet When Biking’ and ‘Use the Pedestrian Crossing to Cross the Road’.
Boustead aspires to contribute by spreading the information of the Brunei Tell-A-Friend Road Safety Campaign to its network of Nissan and Suzuki customers, contractors, staff, family and friends through the service campaign.
Customers, who come to service or repair their vehicles at Boustead Beribi main workshop or the Belait District branch workshop during the service campaign period from February 1 to 13, will be issued a ‘Signature Card’.
The signature card recipient is then expected to convey the five-road safety information to at least 10 of their friends, colleagues and family members.
A goodies bag can be redeemed upon returning the card filled with 10 signatures. Boustead targets to collect 9,000 signatures on March 31 and the slogan adopted for Boustead’s ‘Brunei Tell-A-Friend, Boustead Service Campaign 2010′ is ‘Road Safety Responsibility Starts with You and Me.’
Also during the event, a ribbon cutting to officiate the campaign was done by Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai, Managing Director of Boustead, Rosman Hj Abd Rahman, Head of Emergency and Security of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company and Awang Mohammad Riza Dato Paduka Hj Mohammad Yunus, Director of Land Transport Department.
