LA PAZ, Feb 3 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – Twelve people and 26,452 families affected by heavy rains in 80 of the 327 municipalities, the Civil Defence said.
The government declared a national emergency last week and assigned resources to the areas affected and also provided aid to famers.
Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, followed by Chuquisaca, La Paz, Beni, Tarija, Oruro, and Potosi have been the most pounded regions by intense rains, floods, and landslides because of El Nino weather conditions in the region.
On Mon Feb 1, Defense Minister Ruben Saavedra and Deputy Civil Defense Minister Hernan Tuco delivered ten tons of food, tents, and provisions to affected families in Trinidad, capital of Beni. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
