LA PAZ, Feb 4 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – The enactment of the anti-corruption act “Marcelo Quiroga Santa Cruz” to curb corruption will be a priority for Bolivia’s new Plurinational Legislative Assembly, parliamentary sources said.
The legislation, named after the founder of the Socialist Party, will be processed simultaneously with other anti-corruption-related laws, as suggested by Bolivia President Evo Morales, said Chuquisaca Senator and MAS (Movimiento Al Socialismo) supporter Rene Martinez.
Martinez believes the anti-corruptiuon act will act as a legal tool against several former public authorities already listed by the Ministry for Institutional Transparency.
Anti-corruption Minister Nardy Suxo denounced former Minister of Legal Defense Cecilia Rocabado, for “impropieties in the signing of agreemenents on international arbitration”.
The new measure enacts procedures needed to prevent, investigate, process, sanction and recover the heritage of the state through the work of competent legal authorities, she said.–NNN-PRENSA LATINA
