THE Brunei Shell Petroleum Company (BSP) yesterday celebrated 11 newly certified assessors in their BSP Scholarship and Recruitment programme, bringing the total number of assessors to 52.
As part of BSP’s efforts in recruiting more Bruneians into its workforce, BSP provides scholarship opportunities for aspiring Bruneians who seek to pursue higher education studies and a career in BSP and Brunei LNG.
“This requires a more committed, regular and active participation of its assessors responsible for recruiting these potential employees, as without their full support and participation, the programme will not entirely be possible,” said BSP Deputy General Manager Hj Zainal Abidin Hj Mohd Ali during an appreciation lunch for the new assessors.
The event at the Brunei Shell Recreation Club in Belait was also organised as a welcoming party for fresh graduates who recently returned from their studies and will soon be joining the company.
According to the deputy general manager, the graduate recruitment process has taken an initiative to improve its services with the inclusion of a mandate where assessors/interviewers are given the accountability to accept successful candidates.
This has helped to speed up the recruitment process, as well as ensure sufficient number of assessors to run the centres for graduate recruitment which will in turn also help to propel the development of the nation’s energy industry.
