AN ACCIDENT between two trailers caused a massive traffic jam near the Telisai petrol station yesterday.
According to reports from the Fire and Rescue Department, the accident happened at 3.52pm and involved two heavy-duty trailers, one of them driven by an Indonesian worker while the other by a Bruneian with a Bruneian passenger.
Two fire trucks from Tutong and one from Sungai Liang Fire Station were rushed to the scene after an emergency call was received.
Eyewitnesses said that the accident left the three stuck in their vehicles due to the impact. But the firefighters arrived at the scene in no time and pulled them out of their vehicles.
The Indonesian driver escaped without any injuries while the two Bruneians sustained minor injuries to their legs.
The accident left many motorists travelling to and from Bandar Seri Begawan caught in a long queue starting from Telisai petrol station till the highway leading to the dual carriageway and from Sungai Liang.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
