FORTY female Muslims and female youths from Kg Masin and Kg Bebatik completed a three-day “Jenazah” (corpse-handling) course in which they received certificate of completion at a closing ceremony held at Kampong Masin mosque yesterday.
The guest of honour who handed over the certificates was the head of Mosque Affairs from the Female Muslim Department, Ustazah Hajah Saimah binti Haji Abd Salam.
Also present at the event were the Village Head of Kampong Masin, Awang Mosin bin Haji Kamis and Imam Haji Asmat bin Haji Tuah of Kg Masin mosque.
The objectives of the course were to broaden the knowledge and to produce skilled and efficient individuals in Muslim’s funeral arrangement.
The three-day course was conducted by an instructor, Hajah Jamilah binti Haji Md Noon
The afternoon’s ceremony started with the recital of surah al-fatihah and followed by speeches delivered by a participant representative from the course, Ustazah Hajah Swasa binti Haji Sabtu and the guest of honour, Ustazah Hajah Saimah binti Hj Abd Salam.
The course was organised by the committee members of Takmir Mosque and Consultative Council of Kampong Masin.
