NINETY-SIX per cent of the students at Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB passed their GCE ‘O’ Level examinations recently with flying colours. Among the creditable achievements, 98.6 per cent of the candidates scored at least a credit in Physics; 97.6 per cent scored a credit and above in Additional Mathematics; 95.7 per cent scored a credit and above in Chemistry; 92.6 per cent scored a credit and above in Biology, 92.3 per cent scored a credit and above in Commercial Studies; 91 per cent scored a credit and above in Maths; and 83.7 per cent scored a credit and above in Principles of Accounts.

The principal, Mdm Kho Guik Lan, congratulated the students on their remarkable performances. “This year, the school has seen an impressive improvement in its ’0′ Level results. Such outstanding results show the high standards of teaching here and it can never be achieved without support from our school board members, parents and dedicated teachers. The credit should also go to our determined students who have worked very hard to bring honour to their family and school,” she said.

She also attributed the success to the good use of school facilities by students. “Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB has a comprehensive library, different activity rooms and science labs. Students find learning easier when they make full use of the learning tools provided there,” she concluded.

She also congratulated Ivan Wong Weei for attaining 10 A’S in his ’0′ Level; Loh Xue Yu, Shirley Lim and Cindy Lee for scoring 9 A’s; Kua Pee Ling, Leong Wei Ji, See Der Haur, May Goh, Leong Chi Wei, Vanessa Koh Choo Sze and Ang Shy Yau for scoring 8 A’s; Nicholas Horas, Raymond Ting Lung How, Irene Pang Yee Ling and Yii Shi Hui for scoring 7A’s; Arsia Lee, Lim Boon Kai, Low Chee Ern, Kong Xin Ying and Tan Wan Jing for scoring 6 A’s in their ’0′ Level.
