Borneo Bulletin Writer Feb 13th, 2010 .

INSTITUTE Technology Brunei (ITB) will be organising an ITB Information Day (InfoDay@ITB)
on Saturday, March 13 at the university’s campus in Kg Tungku, according to a press release.

InfoDay@ITB is open to the public from 8am to 4pm with the aim to provide information on the range of programmes offered at the university in August 2010.

Various activities have been organised during the day. There will be a mini exhibition on the students’ final year project, which comprises physical displays. This will provide the public with an idea on the students’ daily routines during their course of study.

Laboratory tours will be conducted from 9.30am to 3pm. There will be demonstrations and practical classes in the engineering labs during the morning session. In the Electrical and Communications Engineering labs for instance, the public will be able to observe how students demonstrate the use of microprocessor and microcontroller systems.

From the laboratory tour, the public and prospective students can also observe demonstrations on the use of hands-on equipment by students and staff. There are currently about 40 engineering laboratories available at ITB for teaching, learning and research excluding other computational laboratories.

The university believes that by conducting this Information Day, prospective students will be able to make the right choice in accordance with their qualifications and interests.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to consult HECAS officers regarding the registration process.
They can also register on the day as registration facilities will be provided.

Aside from its degree programmes in the field of Engineering, Business and ICT, the university will also offer Higher National Diploma programmes in the same fields.
