LA PAZ, Feb 15 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) -Bolivia’s Special Force against Drug Trafficking (FELCN) seized more than 161 tons of cocaine and marihuana in the whole national territory last month, said local newspaper Cambio.
The success is a result of 750 operations in Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and La Paz.
FELCN members also destroyed 334 factories, a crystallisation plant and 461 places for maceration and arrested more than 251 people, including Bolivian and foreigners alike, the report said.
Jorge Romero, director of FELCN in Santa Cruz said the National Police also arrested two Colombians with more than 300 kilos of cocaine in Santa Cruz.
Romero said that they received information on how the arrested people wanted to install a laboratory with the same techniques used by Colombian drug cartels.
FELCN Director Colonel Felix Molina said the effectiveness of the police corps in fighting drug trafficking has been successfjul and will be increased with the creation of two more special forces for investigating and finding fortunes made by drug traffickers. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
