RIYADH, Feb 21 (NNN-KUNA) — A GCC committee in charge of regulating communications and information technology in the six member states start talks here on Sunday.
During its 8th session, the committee is expected to review a host of legislative and regulation issues concerning the communications and information technology, especially a resolution by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) higher council which was issued at its 30th round, the Riyadh-based general secretariate said in a press release.
The resolution deals with boosting the GCC joint investment environment and human resources promotion in the communications and information technology field, the press release explained.
The officials are also expected to review possibilities of unifying mobile communication charges and find a plan for the restoration of the mobile service in case of disasters and emergencies in the GCC member countries of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, it added.
Recommendations of the committee would be referred to a higher committee before it was presented to the ministerial committee of communications and post, according to the press release. — NNN-KUNA![]()
