THE IQRA Association recently held a meeting to appoint the working committee for the “Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran” competition to be held in conjunction with the 64th birthday anniversary of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the year 1431 Hijrah. The meeting took place at the main hall of the IQRA Association building in Kg Manggis 1.

The competition is open to the Brunei citizens and is also extended to the neighbouring states of Sabah, Sarawak, Federal Island of Labuan and Kalimantan, Indonesia. Entries are limited to individuals aged 55 and above.

Also discussed in the meeting that was chaired by Awg Hj Mashud bin Hj Awg Damit was the line-up of events planned for the year ahead until 2011.
