KHARTOUM, Feb 23 (NNN-SUNA) — Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa and a delegation representing Arab investors, businessmen, companies, legislative councils and media representatives have arrived in Khartoum to participate in the Arab Investment Conference in South Sudan
He said in an arrival press statement Monday that the delegation had come to take part in the conference, scheduled to begin Tuesday in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, under auspices of the Arab League.
The Secretary-General affirmed the Arab League’s concern with Sudanese issues and lauded the progress achieved after the 2005 signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) which ended decades of fighting between northern and southern Sudan.
Meanwhile, Sudanese Minister of Investment George Buring has affirmed the government’s keenness to facilitate all the procedures concerning Arab investment in South Sudan.
Moussa was received at Khartoum Airport by Minister of State for Investment Salman Suleiman Al-Safi, Sudan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Gen. Abdul-Rahman Sir Al-Khatim, and the Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan. — NNN-SUNA![]()
