The Kite-Flying Association of the Brunei-Muara District held a meeting recently at ‘Rumah Sumbangan Mulia’, Beribi Gadong in conjunction with the upcoming 26th National Day celebrations.
Committee members agreed to host a kite-flying event, which has been popular in the country, in order to expose the hobby to the public particularly fans of kite flying.
For the kite-flying event, different types of kites made by local participants are usually displayed such as the ‘siar manjar’ kite, multiple kites connected together that can reach a height of 260 feet, the ‘Rakado’ kite, ‘Delta’ kite, ‘Awang Budiman’ kite and many others.
The event will be held at Muara Beach on February 28 from 4pm until 6pm.
Members of the public, especially kite-flying fans, are encouraged to come to the beach on that day and bring their friends and family along.
