JUBA, SUDAN, Feb 24 (NNN-SUNA) — The Arab Conference on Investment and Development in South Sudan has decided to start investments in the development and investment projects which have been put forward by the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) and given top priority in various areas.
The conference in its final session in the South Sudan capital here Tuesday stressed the need to concentrate on infrastructure projects, at the top of which are roads, airports, agriculture, industry, free zones, rehabilitation of schools, hospitals as well as building of slaughter houses.
The conference also decided on the opening of branches of Arab banks in the south, establishment of energy and food security besides setting up of a joint mechanism between the Arab League and the GoSS to follow up on the implementation of these projects.
Meanwhile, the conference earlier discussed a number of specialized working papers including the various fields of investment in South Sudan. — NNN-SUNA
