LIMA, Feb 26 (NNN-ANDINA) – President Alan Garcia said that the Ministry of Housing will build 1,000 houses for the families affected by the Aug 2007 earthquake that hit Pisco in the southern Ica region.
Perez added that the reconstruction of the Don Jose de San Martin school ?the largest of the city- will be completed in the next two to three months.
?After having identified exactly who are the affected families, we are going to build 1,000 houses, I saw the map where the houses will be build directly by the ministry,? President Garcia said during his visit to Pisco, where he was accompanied by Housing Minister Juan Sarmiento.
He added that the Education Ministry and Central Government will reconstruct all the earthquake affected schools in the province.
Meanwhile in Cusco, 500 houses of 30 square meters with living room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom, will be built for the victims of the recent torrential rains and floods that hit the provinces of Anta, Urubamba and Cusco, the general manager of the Mivivienda Fund, Julio Cardenas Sanchez said.
He said that 15 days ago, a special team consisting of architects, civil engineers and technicians carried out the corresponding studies to assist the families who lost their homes and belongings by torrential rains.
The houses will be built in different regions such as Yucay, Zurihuaylla, Zurite, Los Sauces de Izcuchaca and others that are still being evaluated.
Sanchez said that mayors will play an important role since they will have to give the certificates of construction so that works will start in the next 15 days. — NNN-ANDINA
