A total of 372 pupils and 30 teachers of Tadika Jaya Datin Hjh Malai Rogayah in Kg Burong Pinggai, Berakas gathered for the school’s 26th National Day celebration in the school compound, Thursday morning.
The gathering began with an assembly at the school’s main compound in which students and teachers sang the national anthem while the national flag was being raised.
This was followed by a mass recitation of surah al-fatihah and the daily doa, led by a religious teacher at the school. Attendees also performed the ‘salawat’ for the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and a “Dikir Asma ul-Husna” on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of the Prophet.
The gathering also featured a poem “Jiwa Kemerdekaan” or Spirit of Independence, which was presented by Dyg Fatima Az-Zahru binti Hj Riduan of Primary 5. Then, two pupils – a boy and a girl delivered their ‘sajak’. A choir group from Primary 5 and 6 later performed the national song “Tekad Kemerdekaan”.
The principal of the school, Hj Tuah bin Ahmad, was present at the gathering.
