HEALTH inspections and comprehensive health promotions for personnel of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the departments under it began yesterday at the Health Promotion Centre of the Ministry of Health.
Scheduled to end March 13, the 10-day programme is to look out for non-infectious chronic illnesses such as coronary heart diseases, diabetes, cancer of the colon, breast or cervix, high blood pressure, as well as eye and dental health status.
The programme will allow public servants to undergo medical examinations and at the same time raise awareness on chronic diseases, while providing health advice to government officials.
The day saw blood samples taken from public servants to test levels of sugar and cholesterol, as well as checks on BMIs, oral and dental health.
