A group of teachers and staff from Sekolah Rendah Dato Othman Kg Lambak Kiri, led by its Headmistress Cikgu Hjh Salina Hj Abdul Karim, recently made an educational visit to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Also present were senior administration staff, academics and co-curriculum, education officers, teachers and staff.
They were received by an officer in charge of Drug Prevention Education. The recital of surah al-fatihah was specifically read for Allahyarhamah Dyg Marlina binti Ibrahim who recently passed away in the line of duty.
It was followed by a briefing delivered by an officer in charge of Drug Prevention Education on the types of drugs, the effects of drug abuse, modus operandi of drug pushers and punishment for offenders.
The aim of this visit was to gain more insights on the functions, roles and aims of the NCB in eradicating the trafficking and abuse of drugs in many forms through inspection, apprehension, prevention education and so on.
Visitors were also given the opportunity to share their experiences with some of the members of ‘Rakan Harmoni’ who also shared their stories on drug abuse and their sufferings as well as how it affected their family, loved ones and their careers.
