The Village Consultative Council of Kampong Merimbun Mukim Rambai organised a “tarik kalat” or tug-of-war competition in conjunction with the 26th National Day. The event was open to the residents of kampongs under Mukim Rambai, Mukim Ukong, Mukim Lamunin and Mukim Tanjong Maya. The teams were AR Gym A, AR Gym B, Forest Police Team, Merimbun Team, Panchong Team, Lamunin Police Team and Lamunin Fire Brigade Team. The winner of the competition was AR Gym A and in second place was the AR Gym B followed by Lamunin Police Team in third place.
The objectives of the tug-of-war event were to encourage teams to test their fitness and strength while fostering the spirit of teamwork in a healthy competition and forging closer ties among the residents of the participating mukims and kampongs.
The tug-of-war competition was held at the Tapak Lapang Janakuasa Elektrik area, Simpang Long Mayan, Kampong Tasek Merimbun Tutong. Haji Abdul Latif Md Jair
