The Fire and Rescue Department is set to celebrate its golden jubilee on March 9, marking 50 years of saving lives and serving the nation.
In light of this, a golden jubilee poster presentation ceremony was yesterday held at the Fire and Rescue Department in Berakas.
The posters were presented by Information Director Dr Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong to Fire and Rescue Director Yahya bin Haji Abd Rahman.
The day also saw the Fire and Rescue Department Director handing over posters to representative from ministries and government departments.
The posters will help spread word on sideline activities lined up from March 10 to 14 (open to the public) to mark the grand occasion. The highlight of the celebration will be the parade (perbarisan kehormatan).
Among those present were senior officers from Fire and Rescue Department and National Disaster Management, as well as public relations officers from ministries and government departments.
Over the years, the department has realised its objectives in implementing its tasks , meeting responsibilities in providing services, as well as enlightening communities on its role, progress and achievements in line with its vision and mission.
Since its inception it has seen various progressive developments not only from the aspect of human resources, but also from the aspect of professionalism and use of sophisticated and high-technology equipment following up-to-date development.
The department’s progress has been achieved following the implementation of different fields of duties at the department (core business) not only to douse fires but also the more challenging task – rescue.
