LATIN UNASUR BLOC MEETING AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING

QUITO, ECUADOR, Mar 5 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – The Second Meeting of vice Ministers and experts of the Latin American Council for Fighting Drug Trafficking is now in session here under the chairmanship of Ecuadorian Minister of Government Gustavo Jalkh.

The meeting of the 12 member countries of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) is undertaking a review of objectives and agreements under the regional body.

Officials will pepare a final report to be presented at a ministerial meetingp in April of which the venue has not been decided yet.

Ecuador, which is in charge of UNASUR’s presidency, said the Latin American Council for Fighting Drug Trafficking will be a consultancy for cooperation and coordination among the member states to face problems caused by organised crime and drug-trafficking.

Delegates from Argentina, Brazil Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Surinam, Uruguay and Venezuela are attending the meeting. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
