Show of fitness, strength

HER Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah yesterday made Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) proud when she snatched the top spot in the female individual category for universities of the nationwide Military Cadet Orienteering Competition for Schools at Penanjong Garrison.

In second and third places were Siti Wa’afi Nabila of Unissa and Nurul Atteyia Bahtriyah of UBD.
In the male individual category for universities, the winner was Kamarul Ariffin of Unissa, followed by Ahmad Farhan bin Haji Md Saifulizan of UBD and Bahrum of UBD.

In the male individual category for secondary schools and colleges, the winner was Abdul Malik bin Awang Hidup of PDSM Menteri Secondary School, followed by Razali bin Sabli of Awang Semaun Secondary School and Ali Rahman bin Mahmud of Masin Secondary School.

In the female individual category for secondary schools and colleges, the top spot went to Norqasdina bte Abu Bakar of PAP Hajah Masna Secondary School, followed by Nur Sakinah bte Mahmud of Sultan Hassan Bangar Secondary School and Hazimah bte Yunos of PSBS Science College.

Meanwhile, PIHM Secondary School defeated 22 other teams to defend the championship in the team category for secondary schools and colleges.

In second and third places were Masin Secondary School and PDSM Mentiri Secondary School.
This year’s competition saw 24 teams from universities, colleges and schools across the country battling it out for the coveted titles.

The objective of the event was to test participants in map reading skills, physical fitness and mental strength.
Meanwhile, Acting Principal of Ma’had Islam Brunei Ustazah Hajah Hamidah binti Awang Haji Salleh presented trophies to the winners
