A SIGNING of agreement between His Majesty’s Government and the Government of India for the purchase of land for the construction of high commission premises in Bandar Seri Begawan was held yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT).
Signing on behalf of His Majesty’s Government was Dato Paduka Haji Mohamed Nor bin Haji Jeludin, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at MOFAT while Riewad V Warjri, India’s High Commissioner to Brunei signed on behalf of the Indian Government.
India has purchased a 1.21 hectare of land along Jalan Kebangsaan where the high commissioner’s official residence and its mission will be located. Construction of the new mission will commence immediately following the signing ceremony.
The signing ceremony signifies the closer ties between both governments which can already be seen in ICT bilateral cooperation.
