BOGOTA, Mar 9 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – The Canadian company Pacific Rubiales announced a new oil find in Colombia’s plains known as “Quifa 26x” and said it will continue the exploration and drilling in the area this year.
The oil company’s president, Ronald Pantin said the results are very important and support the future of rural production.
The exploration campaign provides valuable information that would help to understand the complexity of the region’s geology, he added.
The president also said that the discovery will strengthen the oil exploration and exploitation process in the territory of the South American nation.
Currently, Quifa Block part of which is the well known “Quifa 26x” has an exploitation process in partnership of 40 percent with the state-owned ECOPETROL and the remaining 60 percent of Pacific Rubiales.
The Canadian company that produces heavy crude oil and natural gas has 34 exploration blocks in Colombia and Peru and interests in three national gas pipelines.
Its production is 34 thousand barrels of oil equivalent a day and focuses its activities in the region through its Colombian subsidiary, Meta Petroleum. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
