Six UBD Rover Scouts embarked on a Rover Scout Rambler Badge expedition challenge to test their physical and mental strength. The five-day expedition saw the participants making a 100km walk, four hours of rafting, tasks such as conducting a survey on mosques, being a good Samaritan, learn more about the villages and community.
The expedition brought the participants to places in Tungku, Lambak Kanan, Serasa, Water Village, Gadong and Batu Satu. The expedition is part of the Rover Scout scheme to build and develop the scouts’ character and skills, educate them on the history and rich culture of the sultanate and train the scouts on the spirit of teamwork in tough conditions. During the challenge, the scouts were required to learn and apply their leadership skills, teamwork spirit, tolerance, understanding, patience and most importantly, to trust their teammates.
The journey started at the Scout Headquarters followed by a hike to Tungku Beach where they stayed a night and the next day, the scouts continued to Serasa Sport Complex. On the third day, the Rover Scouts were asked to build a raft they learnt from the previous training session during UBD scout training.
Day four and five saw the scouts paying a visit to BSB and the Water Village where they learned and discovered the history of the capital and the beauty of the Water Village.
