Asia Enterprise harvests Laila Paddy

Hjh Saemah Zulkefli Mar 10th, 2010 .

With the aim to continue supporting the government in encouraging the plantation of Laila paddy in the country, Asia Enterprise Sdn Bhd carried out the second harvesting at their paddy field.
Manager Chai Yun Fatt told the media that the harvesting of Laila paddy in February was the second as the first harvest was done in December last year.

According to the manager, since the government introduced the paddy variety to be planted in the country, the second harvesting project has showed positive production in this type of paddy.

The sales have also shown that the variety has gained in popularity among the residents in the country.

In July last year, the company made an effort to harvest 10 acres of Laila paddy.

He added that Laila paddy can be harvested twice a year.

He intends to expand the plantation field in order to produce more paddy which can in turn help to accommodate the needs of the local market.
