Brunei darter Pg Mohamed bin Pg Hj Matarsad of USC Top 1 emerged as the overall champion at the International Dart competition held in Kota Kinabalu over the weekend.
Pg Mohamed who works at the Civil Aviation Department beat 335 other participants to emerge victorious in the Men’s Single category winning RM1,200 and a trophy.
“I am really satisfied with my performance during the three-day competition after training so hard for the competition. The team and women darters also put up a good show in Kota Kinabalu,” said Pg Mohamed yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur darter Selevarajoo Subramaniam was placed second and won RM600 and a trophy followed by Brunei’s Madeny bin Jumat and Amin Abd Ghani from Kuala Lumpur in third and fourth place respectively. Both won RM300 and a trophy.

In the Women’s Single category, Bruneian Norhayati bte Maimon won the second place and brought home RM300 and a trophy.
Meanwhile in the team’s event, Sabah’s Kitchen Team snatched the champion trophy and prize money of RM7,000. Brunei’s dart teams BSRC Bur and SSD were placed fifth and eighth respectively.
The dart competition was held from March 5-7 at the Kota Kinabalu Community Hall and was officiated by Datuk Iliyas bin Ibrahim, the Mayor of Kota Kinabalu.
A total of 67 teams from Singapore, Brunei, Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak and Kota Kinabalu participated in the competition.
The next dart competition (team event) will be held in Lahad Datu, Sabah from April 2-4 and several teams from Brunei are expected to compete.
