His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, witnessed an array of thrilling performances by Fire & Rescue personnel during the Fire & Rescue Department’s Golden Jubilee Celebration yesterday morning.
Fifty Fire & Rescue personnel who had completed a 50-kilometre march in the wee hours of Wednesday pulled a six-tonne fire engine during the celebration at the Fire & Rescue Headquarters’ parade field.

HRH also witnessed two demonstrations, which involved freeing a victim from a mangled vehicle and saving lives from a burning building.

Fire & Rescue Cadets, comprising students from Berakas, Sayyidina Hussein and Awang Semaun secondary schools, showed what they were made of by demonstrating their fire-fighting skills. The cadets were led by Cikgu Muhammad Azhar bin Hj Md Salleh, the temporarily supervising teacher.

“Volunteering firefighters” from Kg Setia ‘B’ also took part in the day-long event.

The number 50 was prominently displayed by Fire & Rescue personnel during the grand finale of the Golden Jubilee celebration yesterday.

Earlier, HRH inspected a Royal Guard of Honour and toured an exhibition highlighting the accomplishments of the Fire & Rescue Department, as well as modern equipment used for fire-fighting and rescue operations.

The exhibition will be open to the public today.
