More than 30 students and four lecturers from Academy of Brunei Studies (APB), Universiti Brunei Darussalam visited the Adat Istiadat Department and Lapau building in the capital recently. It was part of their course-based visit.
The group’s first stop was at the Lapau building where they were briefed about the history of the building and the ceremonial functions held at the building. The group was brought on a tour of the building. From Lapau, the group headed to ‘Dewan Persantapan Lapau’ for a briefing about Adat Isitiadat Department’s roles and duties, royal customs and ‘terasul’.
The visit concluded with a question and answer session and group photo of the students with the department officers.
