The Brunei Veteran Team led by coach Ishak Hj Kabon emerged as the champion of the Plate category in the veteran event of the 11th PSC International Soccer 7s held in Malaysia recently.
The team consisted of Azamanuddin Hj Gillen, Sharbini Mohidin, Suni Mat Jerah, Ishak Hj Ibrahim, Tajul Ariffin Sumpong, Alijanda Sitom, Imran bin Hj Ahmad Ali Hj Momin and Abdullah Hj Raini.

Suni Mat Jerah, a former Brunei national team player, was the hero of the squad when he scored the winning goal against Melodi Jaya in the final.
Meanwhile, led by coach Nordin Tujoh, the Brunei Veteran team in the Master Category was beaten by Hong Kong All-Stars 3-1 on penalties in the semifinals.
The team comprised former national players like Liew Chuan Fue, Hj Md Sallehin Kee Abdullah (goalkeeper), Puncha Gunong, Ukoi Anam, Lim Sun Hui, Sheikh Nordin Sheikh Mohamad, Pa Chong Koon, Suhaili Hj Bakar, Hj Shaari Hj Tahir and Kula Mohamad.
Awang Jabar Ithnin the manager for both teams said: “Both our teams did well in this year’s tournament. Our veteran team managed to win the Pplate and the Masters team was undefeated in the group stage until the semifinal. It’s an achievement for the Brunei Veteran Football Association.”
