With an undefeated record, the Ministry of Defence snatched the first gold medal in the Gasing event of the Inter-Ministry Sport Festival yesterday.
The Ministry of Defence Gasing team led by captain Hj Ariffin Abas comprised Samali Hj Md Salleh, Rahim Hj Nawang, Johan Hj Ismail, Hj Jamadi bin Hj Baha and Rosmin Hj Nawang, Kamat Hj Duraman and Yunus Bin Hj Adi proved to be invincible as they outshone the rest of the four teams.
The Ministry of Defence topped the group with a total of 12 points. The silver medal went to Ministry of Religious Affairs with nine points and the Ministry of Home Affairs with six points won the bronze medal.
The guest-of-honour Awang Hj Mohd Mahdi bin Pehin Dato Hj Awang Abdul Rahman, the Permanent Secretary of Religious Affairs presented the medals to the winners.
Also present at the ceremony were Hj Mohamad bin Penglima Asgar Dato Paduka Hj Abdullah, the Director of Youth and Sports and Hj Muhd Zamri bin Dato Paduka Hj Hamdani, the Deputy Director II of Youth and Sports.
