ANOTHER two new Muslim converts in Temburong have received housing assistance from Yayasan Sultan Hj Hassanal Bolkiah.
The Yayasan (Foundation) was established as a platform for welfare contributions and personal endowment from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the royal family.
The housing assistance is implemented by the foundation to upgrade the welfare of the recipients such as new Muslim converts and those incapable of building their own house.
Yesterday, house keys were presented under the Yayasan housing assistance scheme to two new converts, Dyg Anisah binti Mohd Salleh/ Achun @ Radoi Anak Achun and Dyg Siti Aidah binti Abdullah @ Siti Aidah Anak Ekin.
The construction of the houses at the cost of $45,000 took four months.
Each house has three bedrooms, a living room, a toilet and a kitchen.
Since the housing assistance’s implementation in 1996, 135 houses have been constructed and presented. 76 houses were for new converts, of whom 33 were in Temburong. 59 houses were presented to recipients incapable of building their own houses.
Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim bin Hj Daud, Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Hj Hassanal Bolkiah, presented the house keys to the recipients in the presence of senior Yayasan and government officers.
