A TOTAL of 21 cases of theft have been reported to the police over the past four days, with the thefts taking place in houses, public buildings as well as in commercial establishments.
The thefts were reported to have taken place at Teguh Raya building, Jalan Pasir Berakas, Kampung Perpindahan Lambak Kanan, Jln Madang, Kg Kilanas, Kg Tasek Meradun, the Old Airport area, Jln Kota Batu, Gadong and Kg Belimbing in Subok.
In all, seven mobile phones, 46 phone batteries, two laptops, three car batteries, a ground cable, 10 SIM cards, two digital cameras, a LCD TV and cash totalling $2,431 were reported missing as a result of the thefts. A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with one of the cases.
Meanwhile, the Marine Police conducted 11 patrols in the same four-day period. Also reported are a case of a bogus SMS and phone call syndicate from abroad “congratulating the winner for winning a $10,000 jackpot”, six assaults, three cases of vandalism, two frauds and one case of spreading defamatory remarks.
Police also recorded one case of 4D lottery with one local nabbed, one case of a “demoralising act” with three men and a local woman apprehended, two Immigrations cases with six foreign men nabbed, three Customs cases, and two misuse of drugs cases in which two locals were arrested.
On the road, police recorded 30 accidents with 16 car crashes, 16 self-accidents and another two cases of motorcycle- car collisions with three minor injuries. The Brunei- Muara District recorded 26 accidents, while five occurred in Tutong, three in Belait and none in Temburong.
