The Prime Minister’s Office sepak takraw team fought to a 2-0 hard-earned win against the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports to snatch the gold medal at the Inter-Ministry Sport Festival at the Menglait Sports Complex yesterday.
Both games had to be settled in a tiebreaker with the Prime Minister’s Office holding on for a nail-biting win.
In the first game, the Prime Minister’s Office emerged victorious with the score at 21-9, 19-21 and 15-10 while in the second game, the Prime Minister’s Office team managed to rally back from a set down to win 13-21, 21-10 and 15-8.
Third place was shared by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Defence
The guest-of-honour who presented the prizes to the winners was Pengiran Haji Bahrom bin Pg Hj Bahar, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Religious Affairs.
Meanwhile in the netball event, the Ministry of Education proved to be too strong for Ministry of Development as they easily bagged the gold medal with a score of 32-17 in the final at the Tutong Sports Complex
The bronze medal went to the Ministry of Defence after they beat Ministry of Health 28-14 in a playoff.
The Ministry of Defence currently topped the medal tally with two gold, one silver and two bronze medals with the Prime Minister’s Office in second position with one gold, one silver and one bronze.
The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Home Affairs were tied in third position with one gold and one bronze. Sitting at fourth position was the Ministry of Development with one silver and one bronze.
The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Ministry of Religious Affairs were joint fifth with one silver each.
