Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru) is working around the clock to monitor Internet traffic flow of its international uplinks to keep disruption to the minimum.
According to a spokesperson, “we are continuously managing the traffic flow to make sure the disruption is kept to the minimum, which means we will reroute a certain transit to another uplink if need be”.
TelBru said the SEA-ME-WE 3 consortium still cannot pinpoint the cause of the fault though repair works will take approximately nine days to complete.
On Thursday, TelBru said two of its international uplinks connecting Internet transit via SEA-ME-WE 3 Submarine Cables Systems are currently undergoing repair due to cable faults at Segment 1.7 route in North Asia, near Taiwan.
During the repairing period, users may experience slower services.
TelBru and the SEA-ME-WE 3 consortium will ensure any interruption caused by the problem will be kept at the minimum and expressed their sincerest apology for any inconvenience caused.
