There is nothing much more to say about the newly launched Nissan Navara except that it is powerful, tough and rugged.
Boustead Sdn Bhd last month just launched the new Navara, which received high ratings in the country’s growing pick-up vehicles market.
Judging by the Nissan’s exterior, it is modern and has a look of ruggedness.
Its grilled front has a real tough pick-up design.
The back load space meanwhile is huge, measuring the length of 1,480mm by 1,494mm in width.
The interior simply features various compartments for storage as well as easy-to-read meters.
The sporty and tough Navara is complemented with a powerful engine – the YD25DDTi 2.5-litre four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve 4×4 common rail diesel engine, with a variable turbo intercooler that delivers up to 128kW at 4,000rpm, and boasts outstanding fuel efficiency.
With its highest torque being 403Nm at 2,000rpm, the YD25DDTi’s performance matches the maximum torque that one usually gets from a three-litre engine.
The uniqueness of Nissan Navara is that it offers total freedom to explore unknown terrains through its electronically controlled 4WD system.
The ‘Shift on the Fly’ 4WD lets the driver easily switch between 2WD and 4WD (4H) without having to stop the vehicle, as long as it is travelling less than 100km/h.
The option of three driving modes – 2WD, 4H or 4LO – gives the owner luxury to choose the best system for various road conditions.
To sustain some of the toughest terrains, the Nissan is boasted by an advanced new suspension system that effectively smothers annoying impacts and cushion vibrations.
Its newly designed platform helps ensure a smooth ride and provides excellent road-hugging ability.
The large right chassis is based on a double-layered, high-tensile metal frame specially thickened and reinforced to carry heavy roads.
It is designed to absorb a crash impact whilst keeping a firm grip on the road with its wide stance.
In the event of unavoidable accidents, the Navara can help to minimise the damages through its technology by activating the brakes, restraining passengers and applying other measures.
The supplemental restraint system-duel airbag will deploy automatically in the event of severe frontal impact to minimise risks of injury to the front passenger and driver.
The Nissan’s Zone Body construction provides ultimate protection for the passenger cabin with reinforced, energy-absorbing structures as well as a crushable zone that absorbs severe frontal impacts.
