Tranquil beauty of Pelumpong Island

Abd Aziz Pandin Mar 13th, 2010 .

Those looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life can easily do so as our beloved Sultanate has scores of interesting places to visit without burning a hole in your pocket.
Beautiful beaches, parks and resorts are readily available for those hoping to relax or spend time with their family and loved ones.

Pelumpong Island is one of the tourist hotspots situated in the east, across a man-made channel. It is only accessible by boat, which can be hired for $10 (round trip).

We recently paid a visit to the island and the fine weather allowed us to further enjoy the tranquil beauty of the beach.

The inviting crystal clear blue waters helped us to cool off from the heat.

The island is surrounded by trees, providing ample shade for visitors exploring the site. The calming serenity also helped to relieve our stress in daily life as its natural beauty provided somewhat of a soothing effect to ease our minds.

Visitors intending to visit the island should bring along insect repellents as scores of sand flies are all over the place. Sometimes, the long-tailed macaque monkeys would steal belongings and food. So ensure that you come fully prepared.

Besides that, nothing is more relaxing than spending your time in such a place providing a uniquely peaceful and tranquil ambiance.
