ALLAWI STRESSES GIVING ROLE TO ALL IRAQIS WITHIN REAL PARTNERSHIP

IRBIL, March 14 (NNN-KUNA) — Head of the Iraqi List party Iyad Allawi stressed here Saturday inclusion of all Iraqis with a role within a real partnership.

“We consulted today with each others so that all Iraqis can enjoy security and stability, and consequently all individuals in that country will have a role within a real and realistic partnership without any discrimination with the exclusion of terrorists who have their hands stained with the blood of the Iraqi people,” Allawi said in a joint press conference with President of Iraq Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani following a meeting in Salah Addin resort in Irbil.

He added that “our views are correspondent on the stability that should exist in Iraq.” Allawi went on to say, “we await the announcement of the elections’ results in order to establish an expanded cooperation with all political forces and parties that leads up to a common vision in what brings the Iraqi boat to the safe haven.”

On the causes behind the delay on the announcement of the electoral results, Allawi criticized the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), expressing his content over the statement made by the Iraqi Supreme Shitte Leader Ali Al-Sistani calling on the IHEC to expedite the announcement of the elections’ findings.

Allawi also asserted that the Iraqi federal government should urge the IHEC to quickly declare the elections’ results.

As for Barzani, he said that this phase needs a consultation among all stakeholder, adding that though there are some shortcomings, the elections are successful and we hope that their results bode good for Iraq. — NNN-KUNA
