In conjunction with the recently celebrated Maulidur Rasul, Sayyidina Ali Secondary School invited a guest speaker to give a briefing on the importance of the occasion. The speaker is a senior lecturer from UBD and an Al-Azhar University graduate, Professor Madya Dr Hj Suaidi bin Dato’ Haji Safei.
Professor Madya Dr Haji Suaidi touched upon issues regarding the way Brunei celebrated the day. Processions are held and this is meant as a way to assemble the Muslim population to build up the spirits and enthusiasm of the people to spread ‘Syiar Islam’. The celebration’s main objective is to remember the good deeds of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
At the end of the briefing, the floor was opened for a question-and-answer session. There was a “Salawat Syifa” performance.
The lecture was attended by students as well as teachers and staff. Also attending the briefing was the Deputy Principal, Cikgu Dk Mas Juleana binti Pg Abd Rahman who at the end of the session presented a souvenir to the guest speaker. This is an annual event organised by the IRK Department headed by Ustaz Hj Rose De Yusof and Ustazah Hazalina binti Dhalan.
