SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REP, March 14 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – More than half of donor countries and “Friends of Haiti” likely to attend a conference here next week have confirmed their attendance, Dominican Economy Minister Temistocles Montas said.
The meeting should come up with a list of priorities needed by Haiti for its revival.
The meeting is in preparation for a global conference to be held at the UN headquarters in New York on March 31.
He said the agenda will include the discussion of the Action Plan which is the basis of financial programmes to be presented at the UN meeting.
Montas said 14 of the 25 states have announced their attendance, he said when announcing the completion of preparations and confirming the presence of President Leonel Fernandez.
The Dominican meeting, expected to be attended by Haitian Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive, will have a high technical level and will focus on quantifying the economic assistance the Caribbean country needs. –NNN-PRENSA LATINA
