The Muslim women’s committee of the Kg Sinaut Mosque recently organised a ‘Dikir Syarafil Anam’ competition that was held to mark the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birth.
The competition began with a mass recital of surah al-fatihah, which was followed by a keynote address from the chairperson, Ustazah Hjh Samsiah bte Hj Asmat.
Eight ‘muslimah’ teams managed to get to the finals. However, it was the ‘Syura Mawaddah’ team of the Kg Sinaut Mosque, which really caught the jury’s attention and as a result was crowned as the champions.
The first runner-up was the ‘Nur Islam’ team of the Kg Penanjong Mosque while the ‘Ummi Muslimah’ of Kg Kiudang Mosque came in third place. However, they did succeed in winning other categories – for best outfit, discipline and performance. One of the highlights of the event was a ‘Tausyeh’ presentation by the Pakatan Association.
The guest-of-honour during the event was the wife of the Acting Director of the Mosque Affairs Department, Hjh Meimah bte Hj Kamaluddin, who presented prizes to the winners.
