NAY PYI TAW, March 15 (NNN-MNA) — Myanmar’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, U Maung Myint, has returned here after paying a goodwill visit last week to the Islamic Republic of Iran at the invitation of Iranian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ali Fathollahi.
U Maung Myint, who visited Iran from march 8 to 11, returned here on Friday. On March 9, a bilateral meeting between the two deputy ministers took place in Tehran where they exchanged views on promotion of friendly relations between the two countries, further co-operation at the United Nations and other regional forums and matters of mutual interest.
Afterwards, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Manochehr Mottaki, met U Maung Myint and discussed with him the promotion of friendly relations between the two countries.
During his visit to Iran, U Maung Myint also called on the Deputy Minister of Petroleum, H. Noghrehkar Shirazi, and Deputy Minister of Commerce, Mostafa Sarmadi, and held discussions on bilateral co-operation.
U Maung Myint also met with Dr Mehdi Fakheri, the Vice-President of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, and discussed ways of promoting of economic co-operation between the two countries. — NNN-MNA![]()
